Jean married John ARBUTHNOTT 6th Viscount of Arbuthnott, son of John ARBUTHNOTT of Fordoun, Sheriff Principal of Kincardine and Margaret FALCONER, 4 July 1749(contract).¹ (John ARBUTHNOTT 6th Viscount of Arbuthnott was born about 1702 and died on 20 April 1791 ¹.)

"He (John Arbuthnott) married, first, Marjory Douglas .... and, secondly, Jean Arbuthnott, third daughter of the deceased Alexander Arbuthnott of Findowrie, (contract dated 4 July 1749), and by her, who died 15 March 1786, had issue"

"Jean, married as his second wife to John Arbuthnott of Fordoun, afterwards sixth VISCOUNT OF ARBUTHNOTT. In their marriage- contract, dated 4 July 1749, she is designed 'third lawful daughter of Alexander Arbuthnott of Findowrie.6 She died 8 March 1786, leaving issue," (page 295)
