"The eldest son, William Urquhart of Cromarty, married Elizabeth or Isobel, daughter of Sir Alexander Forbes, 2nd Laird of Pitsligo ancestor of the Lords Pitsligo, but having no issue male, was succeeded by his brother ; indeed, it is not certain that this William survived his father at all. The father died on 8th September 1475, and William the son, was certainly dead in October of that year."
