General Notes: "Walter Cumyn, Earl of Mentieth, Guardian and Regent, second son of William Cumyn, Great Justiciar, by his first marriage, before he became Earl of Buchan. Walter married Isabella Countess of Menteith, daughter of Maurice (Muretach) Earl of Menteith, Sheriff of Stirling and Unknown.1 2 (Isabella Countess of Menteith was born about 1219 and died probably before 1273 2.) Marriage Notes: "Isabella, Countess of Menteith, is presumed rather than proved to have been the daughter of Earl Maurice, and her personality is largely merged in that of her husband, Walter Comyn, who was second son of William Comyn who afterwards became Earl of Buchan."
