  General Notes:

"The King (James I) returned to Scotland in April 1424. Just prior to that, on 28 March, David Ogilvy was delivered to the English giving his oath and signet. He was sent from Pontefract to the Tower on 21 May. There, Davy, as he was known, requested a safe conduct for his servants in July. After a year in captivity, he was sent from London to Durham for exchange. He was moved to York Castle in June 1425 and there he was granted leave till Martinmas (November). Davy was thus among the first group of hostages to be released but the exchanges were to continue into the 1430's.[Bain, J., Cal. Of Documents relating to Scotland Vol.IV]"
