Henry married Janet LINDSAY, daughter of Sir John LINDSAY 5th Lord Lindsay of the Byres and Helen STEWART.1 2 (Janet LINDSAY was born about 1532 and died by 15 April 1569 2.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Janet (daughter of John 5th Lord Lindsay), married to Henry, Master of Sinclair, and died 8 April 1565."

from Scots Peerage (vol 5)

"He (William Sinclair) married, first, Janet, daughter of Patrick, Lord Lindsay of the Byres. She died 8, and her testament was confirmed at Edinburgh 15, April 1569.

from Scots Peerage (vol 7)

Note

These two volumes offer contradictory information. Patrick, 6th Lord Lindsay did not marry until 1545, so is likely to have been the brother rather than the father of Janet. She was married to Henry Sinclair, but he was 5th Lord and died in 1601. His son James, was Master of Sinclair, and died before his father in 1593.

Henry next married Elizabeth FORBES, daughter of William FORBES 7th Lord Forbes and Elizabeth KEITH co-heiress of Inverugie.2 3 (Elizabeth FORBES was born on 10 November 1545 3.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Elizabeth (Forbes), born 10 November 1545. She was offered in marriage to Alexander Ogilvie of Boyne, donator of her marriage. He was required to marry her in the church of Kearn on 1 November 1565, and on his failure to do so was sued for the double avail. She was afterwards married, as his second wife, to Henry, Lord Sinclair."

from Scots Peerage (vol 4)

"He (Henry Sinclair) married, secondly, Elizabeth, daughter of William, seventh Lord Forbes. She had a charter from John, Master of Forbes, of the lands of Idvies and Auchlyne, to her and Elizabeth her daughter, confirmed under the Great Seal on 16 August 1591, of the lands of Crosbie in Elgin 2 September 1600, and of a tenement in Dysart 20 February 1601."
