Robert married Margaret COLQUHOUN, daughter of George COLQUHOUN of Glens and Margaret BOYD, 1535(contract).1 (Margaret COLQUHOUN was born about 1520, died on 11 August 1601 1 and was buried in 1601 in Glasgow Cathedral, Glasgow, Scotland 1.)


  Marriage Notes:

"Lord Boyd married (contract dated 1535) his cousin german, Margaret, daughter and heiress of George (not Sir John) Colquhoun, fourth of Glens, by his wife Margaret Boyd, by which marriage the estates of Glens, Bedlay, Benheath, Stablegreen of Glasgow, and other lands passed to the Boyds. She survived him, and died a widow August 11 1601, being buried in the Metropolitan Church of Glasgow, where there is a tomb to her beside St. Mungo's well in the south-east of the lower church. By her will, dated 13 May 1601, she appointed Alexander Colquhoun of Colquhoun and Luss her executor. They had issue"
