"Thomas Forbes of Waterton, born 1664, married first, in 1689, Elizabeth, second daughter of Sir George Nicholson of Balcaskie, afterwards Lord Glenbervie. She brought a fortune of 10,000 merks, and had two sons and a daughter:
John, killed al Sheriffnmir, 1715 - he had been admitted burgess of Aberdeen in 1707. George, o.s.p. before 1722. Margaret, married John Hay of Balbithan."

"Thomas (Forbes), married secondly, in 1690 (see Note below), Katharine Galloway, eldest daughter of Thomas, Lord Dunkeld, and had:
Thomas, his heir. James, drowned in the Don, 1731. William, o.s.p. Jean, born 1699, married J. Sandilands of Countesswells, and secondly, as his fourth wife, John Farquharson of Invercauld, the Jacobite of 1715. Mary, died unmarried. The third Laird died in 1731."
