Marriage Notes: "Elena, by first marriage, married to Roger de Quincy, who in her right became Constable of Scotland, and was made Earl of Winchester in England in 1235. He ruled Galloway, or his wife's share of the territory, so severely that the Galwegians, in 1247, rose in insurrection against him, and forced him to seek refuge with the King of Scots." |
