SON AND BROTHER

Thanage of Fermartyn says:
"I. Andrew Rose or Ross,
second son of William Rose, third of Kilravock. He flourished about the end of the fourteenth century."

It seems that William was the second and not the third laird, so where does Andrew fit?

Family of Rose has him as a brother of Hugh Rose, and Thanage of Fermartyn talks of him 'flourishing' towards the end of the fourteenth century. The more logical placing then is that he is the son of the third laird, and brother of the second laird named Hugh. 1 2

Andrew married.
