Walter married Sarahbell MORISON, daughter of Reverend Mr Walter MORISON Minister of Deskford parish and Elizabeth KER, on 13 June 1785.1 (Sarahbell MORISON was baptised on 14 August 1733 in Deskford parish, Banffshire, Scotland 2 and died on 3 January 1811 1.)

"Walter Chalmers, born 1744, son of Walter C., schoolmaster of Cairney; educated at King's College, Aberdeen, 1758-62 ; schoolmaster of Huntly, 1762-3 ; licen. by Presb. of Strathbogie 30th April 1766; app. 15th Oct. 1766, and ord. missionary at Cairney 6th April 1768 ; removed to Portsoy in 1770; pres. to Towie by George III. 2nd Sept. 1777, but not settled ; pres. by James, Earl of Findlater, in June, and adm. 6th Sept. 1780; died 20th Dec. 1828. He marr. 13th June 1785, Sarabella (died 3rd Jan. 1811), daugh. of Walter Morison, min. of this parish, and widow of Harry Gordon, min. of Ardersier. Publications The Duty of Obedience to the Laws (London, 1793) ; The Prevalent Disregard to Religion and Virtue, the Ruin of Individuals and of Nations (Edinburgh, 1794) ; Account of the Parish (New Stat.
