John married Margaret IRVINE, daughter of Alexander IRVINE 5th of Drum, Sheriff of Aberdeen and Daughter LINDSAY.1 (Margaret IRVINE was born about 1464 and died on 6 April 1532 1.)

"To the chantry of Saint Catherine in the church of Saint Nicholas, founded in 1360 by William de Camera of Fyndon, Lady Margaret Chalmers of Findlater (? Fyndon) and Drum made a donation of twenty pounds in gold and silver for an obit of one solemn mass immediately after her death, - (Kennedy's Annals of Aberdeen.) This was on the 18th January, 1530.
