"1547. - This Alexander Irvine of Forglen was killed at Pinkie, in 1547, leaving six sons and three daughters. The third of these sons, Robert Irvine, called of Tillielair, was father to Irvine of Fortrie, who had but three daughters,
married to Alexander and John of Collairlie (brothers to Gilbert Irvine), and carried away the whole estate. - (Drum MS. Papers.)" (page 189)
