Daughter married John CHISHOLM 16th of that Ilk, and of Comar, son of Alexander CHISHOLM 14th of that Ilk and Janet MACKENZIE.¹ (John CHISHOLM 16th of that Ilk, and of Comar was born about 1574 and died by 17 July 1630.)

"John (Chisholm), who does not appear to have had any issue by his first wife (see Note below), married, secondly, the eldest daughter, by his second wife, of Alexander Mackenzie (natural son of Colin Cam Mackenzie, XI. of Kintail, by Mary, eldest daughter of Roderick Mackenzie, II. of Davochmaluag), progenitor of the families of Coul and Applecross. By this lady he had issue"

It is clear that Janet Bayne was alive on 18 May 1614, according to the charter of alienation of that date. John Chisholm had a son in law who died aged about 36 years of age in about 1622. There has been an error in the ordering of John Chisholm's wives, it being the second wife, it seems, who had 'no issue'. ¹
