Another name for Janet was DYCE, Jannet.2 User ID: K428. Janet married William FORBES Coppersmith, Burgess of Aberdeen, son of William FORBES and Elizabeth GORDON, on 15 October 1740.1 (William FORBES Coppersmith, Burgess of Aberdeen was born about 1715.) Marriage Notes: "Dyce (Janet), only surviving daughter of Mr. William Dyce, minister of Belhelvie, and Katharine Anderson his wife, was born in 1723. Her father (a younger brother of James Dyce of Disblair, 296) was born in 1689, settled at Belhelvie, March, 1716, and died 23rd July, 1724 - the year after this daughter's birth. Her mother, who died in 1773, at the age of seventy-two, was a daughter of the Rev. David Anderson, Professor of Divinity in King's College. Aberdeen, of whom some additional particulars will be found in the Appendix. The minister of Belhelvie had also a son Andrew, and a daughter Katharine, who both died before July, 1745, when an inventory of their effects was recorded. |
