"..... Elizabeth (Gordon) was twice married, first to William Forbes, and next to Charles Lumsden. By the former, who succeeded to the farm, she had, with other children, a son William, who became a coppersmith and burgess of Aberdeen,... The coppersmith, who married a daughter of the Rev. Mr.. Dyce, minister of Belhelvie, was the father of William Forbes, who bought the estates of Calender, &c., Stirlingshire, in 1783."
