STEWART, Magdalen 1

  • Born: About 1741

   User ID: J990.

  General Notes:

Helen and William Stuart are listed as the children of John Stuart, the Minister of Drumblade, in the Drumblade parish register but their names are not listed in Birkenburn. The opposite is true of Mary and Magdalen Stuart.

Moreover, Birkenburn states that Magdalen Stuart married Alexander Adamson, when in fact the parish register shows a Helen Stuart who married him.

"4. Magdalen Stuart, married [Alexander ?] Adamson, farmer and miller in Grange, and had : -

Magdalen Adamson, married William Riddel, wine merchant, Keith, whose issue is extinct (Information from Rev. Professor Cooper)."
