Note: No record of marriage has been found for Robert Duncan before his marriage to Margaret Taylor, but a child was conceived by Robert Duncan in 1730 and baptised as James in 1731. The form of baptism record suggests the child was born outside of marriage. The father did not present the child according to the baptism record narrtive. The sponsor or presenter of the child was James Forsyth, and the child's father is named as Robert Duncan. This usually indicates birth outside of marriage. 1
