James Douglas Drysdale was a bachelor of 28 years of age. He was stationed at Athlone Barracks, Athlone, and by occupation was a saddler in the Royal Field Artillery. His mother was deceased.

Rosina Cairns was aged 25 years and lived at 103 Market Street, Musselburgh. She was a shop assistant by occupation, and was a single woman. Her mother was deceased.
