Three days before his death, on 30 December 1725, Sir Patrick Strachan of Glenkindie nominated some Tutors, or guardians, and Curators, to protect the affairs of his young daughter and another expected child. John Innes of Edingight was one of these, as was John's brother, Alexander. Another was Thomas Grant. He was not a direct blood relation of Patrick Strachan, but was connected through marriage. Patrick's sister, Violet, was married to Thomas Sutherland, whose niece, Jean, was married to Thomas Grant. (Strachans of Glenkindie) 2
