"(298) Gavin Hamilton of Raploch, fourth son of James Hamilton (No. 244), succeeded his brother, Archibald (No. 251). He was killed 28th June 1571. He was Commendator of Kilwinning, and after the Reformation married Margaret, daughter of John Hamilton of Broomhill. Her Will recorded 25th May 1596 (Edinburgh). They had a son"
