"He (Robert Burnet) was admitted to the Scottish bar on the 20th February, 1617, and married his first wife in 1620. That his career at the bar was a successful one is evinced by the fact that in 1628 he acquired Banachtie and Mill of Bourtie from William Seton of Meldrum, and, in 1634, Crimond which afterwards became his residence, and from which he took his territorial appellation), in Aberdeenshire, from John Johnston of that Ilk" (page 131)

"He married, in 1620, Beatrix (who died in 1622), youngest daughter and co-heir of William Maule of Glaster, son of Robert Maule of Panmure, and had by her one daughter, Bethia (born 1622, died 1624" (page 133)
