(at Peterhead in 1763) "GEORGE MOIR, born 5th April 1741, son of Andrew M., min. of Ellon; educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen, 1755-9; licen. by Presb. of Ellon 26th April, pres. by George III. 6th May, and ord. 11th Aug. 1763; M.D. 9th Sept. 1765; died 18th March 1818. In the course of his ministry he occupied the pulpits of three parish churches in Peterhead, that of the old church in the churchyard, 1763-70, that of the new church built on the Little Links, 1770-1800, and afterwards that of the present church. He marr. 7th March 1766, Martha (died 17th Nov. 1816), third daugh. of Patrick Byres of Tonley, and had issue Andrew, born 9th June 1767, died in East Indies in 1783; Patrick, Commissioner of the Court of Requests at Calcutta, born 26th June 1769, died 5th Feb. 1810; James, physician, born 11th Nov. 1770; Robert, born 23rd March 1772, died 28th March 1782; Janet, born 5th Nov. 1773 (marr.
