In the November 1935 death certificate of his daughter Agnes, John Falconer was recorded as "Coal Miner (deceased)". ^{1 3 4}

John married Susan Innes Meek GARTSHORE, daughter of Alexander GARTSHORE and Janet Jack MARR, on 28 August 1908 in 3 Frew Street, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^{1 2} (Susan Innes Meek GARTSHORE was born about 1882 ² and died after 10 November 1935 ⁴.)

The marriage was celebrated according to the forms of the Congregational Church. The officiant was John Davidson. The witnesses were Jeanie Gartshore and George Johnstone.

John Falconer, a single man aged 24 years, was a coal miner residing at Darrochs Land, Plains, by Airdrie.

Susan Innes Meek Gartshore was 26 years old and single. She lived at 3 Frew Street, Airdrie, and was a domestic servant.

The marriage was registered at Airdrie on 29 August 1908.
