In his death certificate of 1877 Thomas George was recorded as a master plasterer by trade, aged 68 years, and married first to Elizabeth Hunter and later to Janet Cowan. Both of his parents were deceased. His son Thomas George, of Wishaw, was the informant. ^{2 4}

Thomas next married Janet COWAN. (Janet COWAN was born in 1831 in Tarbolton, Ayrshire, Scotland and died in 1888.)
