In 1841 the census recorded John and Mary Craig living at Longbyers in Shotts parish, with their children William, Mary and John.

By the time of the 1851 census, only Mary Craig and her son John were living at Long Byers, along with three Irish-born lodgers named Broadley. Mary was a tambourer by occupation.

In 1861 Mary Craig was living with her son WWilliam Craig and his family at 26 Furnace Row, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Mary Craig, aged 83 years old and a tambourer by occupation, was living at 85 Castle Wynd, hamilton in 1871, according to the census of that year.

In her 1873 death certificate Mary Gartshore, aged 85 years, was recorded as the "widow of John Craig General Labourer". Both her parents were deceased. 1 3 4 5 6 7
