Euphemia married William (II) 3rd Earl of Ross, son of William (I) 2nd Earl of Ross and Jean COMYN.¹ (William (II) 3rd Earl of Ross was born about 1242 and died 28 January 1322 (1323) ¹.)

"He (William, 3rd Earl of Ross) died at Delny 28 January 1322-23, having married a lady named Euphemia (see Note 1 below), who warmly supported the English party. He left issue"

Although there is no established documentary proof, a case has been made for William's wife, Euphemia, as having been of the Barclay family, and specifically the daughter of Hugh, Justiciar of Lothian and 6th laird of Towie.

In this connection, referring to Hugh de Berkeley, 6th laird of Towie, A History of the Barclay Family Part II states on page 59:

"In addition to Sir Patrick already mentioned as witnessing with his father at Berwick in 1268, Sir Hugh de Berkeley had a younger son, David, the progenitor of the Berkeleys of the Brechin and Collairnie lines, who will be dealt with later, and a daughter Effie, who married Walter de Somervill."

However, The Scots Peerage, (vol. 8), page 3, makes no mention of a Walter Somerville, nor of any marriage with a daughter named Effie de Berkeley, who could have been expected to have been a son of William de Somerville, (who was actually succeeded by his son Thomas), in the relevant time period.
