"On the 20th July, 1513, there is Confirmation to Patrick Sinclere of Spottis of the lands of Spottis, with mill, in Kirkcudbright : remainder to the legitimate heirs of his body whom failing to (1) Hector Sinclair, his brother-german ; (2) Sir John Sinclair of Dryden, knight (Patrick's son); (3) William Sinclair, brother-german of Sir John ; (4) George Sinclair, also brother-german ; (5) M. William Sinclair, also brother-german ; whom all failing to the lawful and nearest heirs of the said Sir John Sinclair. Insuper ex special grace concede Patrick and Hector, brothers, bastard sons of the late Edward Sinclair de Dridane, the right to make disposition."

Patrick married Margaret GORDON, daughter of Sir John GORDON of Lochinvar and Kenmure and Elizabeth LINDSAY.1 (Margaret GORDON was born about 1475.)

Patrick next married Elizabeth STEWART, daughter of Sir James STEWART 'Hearty', Earl of Buchan (3rd creation) and Lord Auchterhouse and Margaret MURRAY.2 3 (Elizabeth STEWART was born about 1488.)


  Marriage Notes:

"His (Mungo Home's) widow, Elizabeth Stewart, lady of Coldaneknollis, married, secondly, as his second wife, Patrick Sinclair, familiaris servitor to King James IV., and a confidential messenger of Queen Margaret Tudor, in her intercourse with her brother Henry VIII."
