Marie next married James V STEWART King of Scots, son of James IV STEWART King of Scots and Margaret TUDOR, (first by proxy in Paris) June 1538 in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland.1 (James V STEWART King of Scots was born on 10 April 1512 in Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland,1 died on 14 December 1542 in Falkland, Fife, Scotland 1 and was buried in 1542 in Holyrood House, Edinburgh, Scotland 1.). The cause of his death was 'grief' after Scots defeat at Battle of Solway Moss. Marriage Notes: "He (King James V) married secondly (by proxy in Paris 1538), at St. Andrews in June 1538, Marie de Lorraine, daughter of Claude, Due de Guise, and widow of Louis d'Orleans, Due de Longueville. She was crowned Queen in the Abbey Kirk of Holyrood House, 22 February 1539-40, and was Queen Regent during her daughter's early years. She died at Edinburgh Castle, 10 June 1560.
