Patrick married Helen HAMILTON, daughter of John HAMILTON of Newton, WS and Jean GARTSHORE, on 18 February 1741 in Edinburgh, Scotland.^{1 2} (Helen HAMILTON was born on 29 October 1723 in Edinburgh, Scotland ³, baptised on 30 October 1723 in Edinburgh, Scotland ³ and died on 18 July 1773 ².)

  Marriage Notes:

"Helen Hamilton, daughter of John and Jean Hamilton, married Sir Patrick Murray, 4th Bart of Ochtertyre on 18 February, 1741. Patrick was born on 21 August, 1707. He died on 09 September, 1764. Helen died on 18 July, 1773."

A date of 15 February 1741 also exists in the Extracts of Parish Records, and is probably part of the banns of Marriage. ^{2 4}
