In the birth certificate of his son Charles in 1855, Constantine was described as a 'pudler', presumably at Gartness Iron Works, Shotts where Charles was born. He was aged 27 years and had been born in Ballyholland in Ireland. He and his wife married on 18 August 1851 at Airdrie, and they had two sons living - probably Charles the new born and an older child, since baby Charles was described as Rosannah's 'second' child. Constantine signed the notification for his son's birth.

By 1871 Constantine and Rose Ann O'Rourke were living with four of their children in England in Consett, Durham. 2 3

  Research Notes:

BALLYHOLLAND is probably Ballywhollan, County Tyrone.

Constantine married Ann DONNELLY on 18 July 1851 in St Margaret's RC Church, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Ann DONNELLY was born about 1830 in County Tyrone, Ireland.)

  Marriage Notes:

Fr Duncan McNab married this couple. The witnesses were Patrick O'Neil and Margaret Gillespie.

The earlier IGI date for this marriage was probably the banns of marriage. 1
