The 1881 census recorded Catherine McGraw, wife of Thomas Ogilvy and mother of a 14 month old daughter Mary Ann, living at 16 Kirkgate. Leith. She was recorded as 22 years old and had been born in Leith.

When Catherine McGrath died in 1886 she was recorded in her death certificate as married to Thomas McGoldrick, causeway layer. Her recorded age was 33 years. Her father, John McGrath, was deceased and her mother , Mary Duke, still living. She died in hospital and her home address was noted as 17 King Street Leith. ^{2 4 5}
