Alison married Alexander LIVINGSTON of Dunipace, Councillor of Stirling, son of Alexander LIVINGSTON of Fildes and Unknown.1 2 (Alexander LIVINGSTON of Dunipace, Councillor of Stirling was born about 1455 and died about 1532 1.)


  Marriage Notes:

"In one of the charters to him under the Great Seal of Scotland, dated 24th December, 1521, the name of his wife is stated to be Alison Gourlay, and their son, Alexander, is also named. The Burgh Records of Stirling show that he was a member of the Town Council of Stirling in 1527-8. By his wife, Alison Gourlay, he had two sons, David and 'Mr.' Alexander....

.... Alexander Livingstone, first of Dunipace, was succeeded by his second son, Mr. Alexander."

Referring to volume five of The Scots Peerage, page 429, entry for Alexander Livingston of Phildes:

"p. 429, 1. 20, delete from ' This ' to end of paragraph, and insert

'He (Alexander Livingston of Phildes) had issue, a son,

(1) Alexander of Dunipace. He was a member of the Town Council of Stirling in 1527-28. He married Alison Gourlay (Reg. Mag. Sig., 24 December 1521), and had issue :

i. David of Bantaskine, died vita patris, having married Elizabeth Shaw, with issue.

ii. Mr. Alexander of Dunipace and Fildes. He married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Adam Hepburn of Craigs (cf. ante, vol. ii. 149 ; Reg. Mag. Sig., 24 July 1525) with issue (Lands and Lairds of Larbert and Dunipace Parishes, by J. C. Gibson, 1908).' "
