The marriage took place by Declaration in the presence of John Murphy, coal miner, and Margaret Heron, domestic servant.

Peter was 23 years old and a bachelor. He lived at Neilsland Cottage, Broompark, and had previously been resident in High Blantyre. He was a coal miner.

Alice Heron was a wool powerlooom weaver. She was 18 years old and single. Her address was 14 Bardykes Road, High Blantyre.

All four parents of the couple were still living.
