Staats married Catherine GORDON, daughter of William GORDON 2nd Earl of Aberdeen and Susan MURRAY, on 25 March 1756.¹ (Catherine GORDON was born on 20 October 1718,³ died on 16 December 1779 ¹ and was buried in Elgin Cathedral, Moray Scotland ¹.)
