Margaret married Thomas DUFF Banff Merchant & Burgess, Chamberlain to Braco, son of Robert DUFF of Hillockhead of Glass and Unknown.1 (Thomas DUFF Banff Merchant & Burgess, Chamberlain to Braco was born about 1689 and died in 1717 1.)

  Marriage Notes:

"He (Thomas Duff) married Margaret Stewart, daughter of Robert Stewart, merchant in Banff, and Provost from 1715 to 1724 (and sister to John Stewart, supervisor of excise, who married Corsindae's daughter), and died in 1717. She died in 1747, when she is described as 'relict of Thomas Duff, some time merchant in Banff.' Her only son Robert was born in 1716, and died in the year 1748, having previously made three wills, all preserved in the Commissariot Books of Aberdeen, from which a good deal of information relating to this family has been obtained. He names his mother, Margaret Stuart (the name is spelt in either way) sole executrix, but with burden of certain legacies to his uncles and aunts and cousins on both sides of the family, and also alludes to a bond for £300 granted to him by William, Lord Braco."
