John married Anne GORDON, daughter of James GORDON of Banchory-Devenick, Merchant in Aberdeen and Margaret CUMMING, on 5 July 1757 in Auchindoir and Kearn parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 2 (Anne GORDON was born about 1736 and died on 14 May 1774 4.) Marriage Notes: "By his (ie James Gordon's of Banchory-Devenick) first wife he had two daughters, viz: John next married Mary CUMMING, daughter of Charles CUMMING 3rd of Kininmonth, Jacobite 1745 and Sophia FORBES, on 26 June 1775 in Saint Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.2 (Mary CUMMING was born about 1741.)
