"It was seen in the last chapter that Alexander of Craigienach had two sons .... the younger, Patrick, was factor for Archibald Grant of Ballintomb, and appears frequently in the Records of the Presbytery of Aberlour, being described, in the years 1720, 1722, 1727, and 1730, as 'of Craigienach ' (sometimes spelt Craggenach). He was also an elder for the parish of Knockando.
He and his wife, Jean Gordon, had at least three children : John Duff of Pitchaish, of whom many descendants arc now living; another son, who had a son Robert ; and a daughter Margaret, only known to us from the following entry in the Presbytery Book of Elgin (1735) : ' There are no Papists in Alves, but Jean Gordon, wife to Duff of Craigienach and Margaret Duff his daughter.' "
