"Katherine died in 1758, having survived her husband for thirty-two years, and during the nine years that the eldest son Robert survived his father he was always known as ' younger of Drummuir,' and apparently did not take possession of the estate, but resided first at Westerton in the parish of Botriphnie, and afterwards in Elgin, where his two younger children were born and baptised.....

Robert Duff died in 1735, and his son, Archibald Duff, succeeded to the estate of Drummuir, but apparently only took full possession upon his grandmother's death in 1758. William was a a merchant in Holland, chiefly at Rotterdam, and died unmarried after 1750."

Robert (Gordon son of William Gordon 6th of Birkenburn) 'was born at Davidstoun on Wednesday the 13 of January 1714 betuixt the houre of 5 and 6 in the afternoon and was baptised by Mr. George Chalmer, minister at Botriphny, Lessindrum elder and young Drumur godfathers; old Drumur, John Robertson and Mr. James Chalmer witnesses'."

"He (Robert Duff) married, in 1717, Isobel Campbell of Clunes, and had by her two sons : Archibald, born 1721, and William, born 1724, and a daughter Catherine, born 1723, who married Archibald Campbell of Rudgate, and had one daughter Isabel."
