ADAIR, Stanley 2
General Notes: "A relative of Mum got her out of the Asylum and she moved to Wellington, North Island, NZ. She met my Father Stanley Adair, who was 49. As far as we know, he had never been married previously. I have searched and other people have searched for info about my Father but no birth record can be found. No records, of any sort, of who he listed as his Parents were found (his Mother's maiden name is not known). The earliest record I have found is a school photo of him & his class, dated 1910, when he was about 14 years old. A professional person said that his birth was most likely illegitimate. He said he was an orphan and when pressed by me when I was 16, refused to talk about it. Nothing more has ever been found about him. He remains a mystery. Stanley married Rebecca Gwendoline SMITH, daughter of Henry SMITH and Mary GARVEN, on 7 July 1943.1 (Rebecca Gwendoline SMITH was born on 22 July 1913 in Kaitangata, Otago, New Zealand 2 3 and died on 4 December 1958 in Hamilton, New Zealand 1 2.) |
