"Sir Thomas Dick-Lauder, born in 1784, married in 1808 Charles- Anne, only child and heiress of George Cumin, Esq., of Relugas, by whom he had two sons and ten daughters (three of whom died in infancy). Sir Thomas, who was the lineal male representative of the families of Lauder Tower and Bass, and, through a female, of Dick of Braid and Grange, d. 29th May, 1848, and was succeeded by his elder son -

Sir John Dick-Lauder, who was born in 1813, and married, 22nd May, 1845, Lady Anne Dalrymple, 2nd daughter of North, 9th Earl of Stair, and had issue, four sons and three daughters."
