"Sir Andrew Murray of Balvaird and Arngask sat in Parliament in 1560, was knighted before 12 December 1562, and was on the assize of George, Earl of Huntly for opposing the royal troops at Corrichie in that year. He died between 30 April 1572 and 23 July 1573, having married, first, Margaret, daughter of John Ross of Craigie,and with her had a charter of Lochton, Wilkeston, and Curhurly in the barony of Arngask, on the resignation of his father, which charter was confirmed 30 December 1541."

Andrew next married Jonet GRAHAM, daughter of William GRAHAM 2nd Earl of Montrose and Janet KEITH.1 (Jonet GRAHAM was born about 1528.)

"Sir Andrew Murray of Balvaird and Arngask .... married, secondly, Jonet Graham, daughter of William, second Earl of Montrose, to whom he granted in her virginity, 28 September 1542, the aforesaid lands in Arngask, she having another liferent charter of the same date from his father of other lands in the same barony. By her he had issue"
