 | | | ROURKES, 'Dungannon'
Born: About 1740Marriage (1): Unknown    General Notes: This individual has not had a first name attributed to him as yet, because in all likelihood this is not a single person. What is being indicated here is a generational relationship based on place and time.
Doing this is a practical means of linking various Rourkes in the Dungannon area of County Tyrone at roughly the same period. It may be that the children shown here as his sons and daughters were related to each other, but possibly sons and daughters of brothers, or even sons of cousins.

So this Rourke is a "possible common ancestor". More research is needed to attempt to sort out where there are common names and other factors which might determine how the "sons and daughters" are actually related to each other.
