"William Duff, born about 1707, a natural son of William Duff of Braco, educated at Univ. and King's College, Aberdeen M.A. (7th April 1727); had a bursary in divinity from the Exchequer 24th July 1728; ord. to Kinedward 27th Sept. 1733; pres. by William, Earl Fife, before 22nd Nov. 1764; trans, and adm. 26th June 1765; died at Glenbuchat 19th Aug. 1786. He marr. 28th March 1734, Anna (died 29th March 1747), daugh. of Sir John Turing, Bart,, min. of Drumblade, and had issue Helen, born 6th April 1736; Patrick, born 26th July 1737, died before 1st Dec. 1779; Robert, D.D., min. of Kinedward, born 25th Sept. 1739; Jean, born 20th March 1741, died before 1st Dec. 1771); William, min. of Keig, born 27th Sept. 1742; John, min. of Grange, born 21st Oct. 1745; Ann Elizabeth, born 29th March 1747."
