  General Notes:

"William Lauder, was an early painter of interest about whom little is now known. He was baptised on 8th January, 1680, at Haddington, East Lothian, to James Lauder, the Provost there, and his wife Isobel Pringle. On 1st June 1698 he was indentured as an apprentice to Thomas Warrender, painter, at Edinburgh."
