"In the same year (as the first wife was recorded as deceased), 1695, Macfarlane ('Genealogical Collections,' ii., 35) says that James Gordon 'of Westerton' married Elizabeth Leslie, then only fifteen years old, daughter of Patrick Leslie, who lived at Fyvie, and
who was the fifth son of James Leslie, IV. of Wartle. The marriage is not given. in Colonel Leslie's "Family of Leslie," (iii., 302). In 1696, James Gordon, gentleman, was tenant of Westerton of Auchleuchries :his wife is given as Elizabeth Leslie ("Poll Book").'
