Mary Jane Tragheim died in 1869 at the early age of 6 years and 4 months. She died in hospital, but her usual residence was 1 Scott's Entry, Brown's Square, Edinburgh. ^{1 2}

Catherine Tragheim, the child's mother, gave notice of Mary Jane's death before the registrar, David Beatson, at Edinburgh on 27 January 1869. ²
