Alexander married Catherine GORDON co-heiress of Badenscoth, daughter of William GORDON 3rd of Badenscoth and Mary BAIRD, in 1754.1 (Catherine GORDON co-heiress of Badenscoth was born about 1730.)

  Marriage Notes:

"II. James Leslie of Rothienorman. He married, in 1760, Jane Gordon, second daughter of William Gordon of Badenscoth.

The said Jane and her elder sister Catharine, wife of Alexander Forbes of Blackford, being co-heiresses of Badenscoth, on the death of their only brother, James Gordon, without issue, in 1788, succeeded to that property.

James Leslie of Rothie bought the half that belonged to Mrs. Forbes of Blackford, and thus the estate was united to that of Rothienorman. James Leslie also purchased in 1761 the feu-duty and superiority of the lands of Rothienorman from the Earl of Rothes, to whose family, for many generations, as above narrated, the estate of Rothienorman belonged."
