"ALEXANDER MURRAY, educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen, 1730-4; licen. by Presb. of Strathbogie 11th July 1744; assistant to preceding; ord. as such 2nd June 1747; pres. by Archibald Dunbar of Newton before 2nd Aug., and ad in. 28th Sept. 1748; died 31st July 1780. He marr. 3rd Jan. 1749, Isobel (died 5th Nov. 1795), daugh. of Robert Gordon of Haughs, and had issue Rebecca, born 9th June 1750 (marr. John Reid, min. of this parish); Archibald, born 5th Jan. 1752; Andrew, min. of Auchterderran, born 23rd March 1755; Alexander, born 10th June 1757; Janet, born 20th Feb. 1761 (marr. David Miln, min. of Edinkillie)."

Alexander married Isobel GORDON, daughter of Robert GORDON of Haughs and Rebecca DUNBAR, on 3 January 1749.¹ (Isobel GORDON was born about 1732 and died on 5 November 1795 ¹.)
