  General Notes:

Robert Quigley was recorded by the 1841 census living in Wright Street, Liverpool, England with his father and siblings. He was recorded as 14 years old and had been born in Scotland.

In 1851 Robert Twealey [sic] and his wife Mary were living at 31 Clement Street, Liverpool, England, with their three small children. Robert was recorded in the census entry as a married man of 25 years of age who had been born in Scotland. He worked as a sawyer.

the 1861 census for Everton township, Liverpool, recorded Robert Tweedley and his family living at "16 Celler Buckingham St". Robert was a sawyer by trade, 34 years of age, and had been born in Scotland. Along with him lived his wife Mary and their five children, four sons and a daughter, aged from 10 months to 14 years.

The Tweedley family were recorded by the 1871 census living in the Scotland ward of Liverpool, at 50 Granmer Street. Robert and Mary were living there with their four younger children, and a boarder named Mary Pinder, an Irish widow of 71 years of age on Poor Relief. Robert was noted as being 45 years old and born in Scotland, a sawyer by trade. 3 4 5 6


Robert married Mary LLOYD, daughter of John LLOYD and Unknown, on 18 May 1845 in St Nicholas Church, Liverpool, England.1 (Mary LLOYD was born about 1827 in Liverpool, England 3 and was baptised between January and March 1907 in Liverpool, England 2.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was solemnised after banns according to the rites and forms of the Established Church of England by Thos. MacGill, curate. The witnesses were John Rice and Mary O'Neill.

Robert Quigley was a bachelor, under 21 years of age, and was a sawyer by trade. He resided in Wright Street, Liverpool.

Mary Lloyd lived in Arley Street, Liverpool. She was a single woman and under 21 years of age.

Both bride and groom made their X mark. 1
