Barbara married James ARBUTHNOTT 2nd of Lentusch, son of James ARBUTHNOTT of Lentusch, Merchant and Burgess of Aberdeen and Isabella LESLIE, after 9 May 1601 (charter).¹ (James ARBUTHNOTT 2nd of Lentusch was born about 1577 and died after 1636 ¹.)

  Marriage Notes:

"James, second Laird of Lentusche, which estate, as we have seen, was made over to him in his father's lifetime. In the Charter conveying the lands to him, which was signed at Lentusche on 9th May, 1601, 'Barbara Wishart, his future spouse,' is named. A witness was James Wishart, lawful son of Alexander Wishart of Carnebeg, who was doubtless Barbara's brother or father. Registration of sasine is dated 9th May, 1607. The previous year, 1606, he had been at the horn, for what offence does not appear, and he was again at the horn in 1611 for the 'slaughter' of William Wood in Thanestoun."
